Indico is a Web-based application to schedule and organize events, from a simple lecture to the biggest conferences. Developped by CERN, it is freely available under the GNU GPL licence. Based on a Web interface, Indico makes your data available from everywhere, at any time. Indico enables you to sort your events by categories and provides several ways to find your information: - By browsing the category tree
- By using the calendar that shows you the dates when events are scheduled
- By using the overview that shows you all the events scheduled for the day/week/month
Access control : Indico's advanced user management system allows you to set up sophisticated access control. At each level (categories, events, sessions, contributions), you can set access and management right for users or groups. Some special roles (coordinator for sessions or subbmitters for contributions, etc.) can give limited rights to users. | | An easy and fast way to publish your events :
With Indico, you can create a Web site for your event and announce it easily. Someone will make a presentation in your company? In 5 minutes, you can announce it in Indico, along with with all relevant information and material. Then all interested people can add the event in their favorite calendar tool (Outlook, Google calendar, ...) thanks to the iCal export tool. | Organize your meetings :Set up the timetable of the meeting. For each contribution, i.e. presentation, you can set a duration, so that you keep control of the timing. You can grant each contributor the right to upload documents only to their contribution. Thus, participants can store all the material they used or produced during the meetings: minutes, slides, ... . This function gives you the possibility to retrieve the relevant information later. You can also set reminders that will send an email to all participants at the time of your choice. During meetings, Indico helps you to save time: - All documents are available directly on the Web page for the meeting concerned. You don't need to plug a USB key, insert a CD or search on your intranet to display the documents.
- The displaying of the timetable on the video projector makes it easier for the moderator to lead the meeting.
- The minutes can be written concurrrently on the Web page.
After a meeting, all relevant documents are available, attached to the event concerned, so that you can readily get them and know what happened, for example if you missed the meeting. |  | Some tools for all the life cycle of a conference :After you setup up the basics data of the conference (title, dates, location, ...), the website of the conference is automatically created. You can customize it from the management interface. You don't need a web developer. With the "call for abstract" tools, you can easily setup a form to get all the contribution proposition. A delegation mechanism allow you to grant some reviewer tho will give judgments on abstracts. Then, managers can accept or refuse the abstracts. The registration tools make it easy for you. You build a form where you can set entries about several things: accommodations, social events, lunch/dinner,... For each of these entries, you can set a price, so the registrant can pay directly in the registration process by e-payment with a credit card. You can setup a complex timetable with parallel sessions, sessions on several days, poster sessions, ... Accepted abstracts are automatically transformed into contribution. You just need to put them in the timetable. The speakers can upload their slides, papers, ... and attach them to their contributions After the conference, Indico can create the proceedings. You can also get an offline website: A zip file is created with all the public pages saved in static html files. Indico allow you to create an evaluation form to get the opinions of the participants |  |
